SC Nation President Chris Jones said he is working on bidding out the site for the states 6 Man tournament to the highest bidder to bring more revenue into the state. This means there will no longer be a set rotation for this event.

Nov 5 out of Blacks will be a benefit tournament for Jimmy Bihler who past away. The club voted to give a $100 entry fee donation from the Summerville club.

Paul gave kudos to Chris, Elvis and JD for getting everything together for the 6 Man lodging and food.

It was discussed about members that fish multiple cubs and choosing which to fish 6 man with. Art 5 states a member may be removed from the club if they choose to fish 6 man with another club if they are in the top 6 in Summerville. This was put in many years ago due to members making paper / ghost teams instead of fishing with Summerville. It was generally agreed that this rule does not apply to those fishing other clubs and should not be an issue in the future.

District 6 fish off team – Jim R, Dwayne, Elvis, Ron, Chris, Johnno, Alt – Malcolm Tournament is Nov 18 out of Blacks, safelight till 330.

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are off limits starting Nov 1.

Jim Grant brought up getting club jackets if anyone is interested. Approx. $100

Club banquet is Tuesday, Nov 7, at Logans in Summerville at 630.

November tournament is the 5th out of Blacks, safelight till 3. Reminder that is also Daylight savings time so takeoff will be an hour earlier, approx. 6-615. There also will be a benefit tournament that day from 1-5.

Proposed Bylaw / Trn rule changes

Rule 14 Lunker Award – As a Lunker Award, the club will pay a maximum of $200 towards the replica mounting of a Largemouth bass over 10lbs (Smallmouth over 6) which is caught by an active member in good standing during a sanctioned club tournament.

Club Championship – The top 10 in points will qualify to fish the Club Championship. The angler with the biggest bag of the year, if not in the top 10, will also qualify to fish the Championship.

Oct 1 – Lake Murray, ramp at Acapulco Landing, 960 Rock N Creek Rd, Leesville SC. We will meet at the Spinx at exit 194 and we will need to leave no later than 430am as it is 2 hr drive and Sunrise is at 715.

Oct 20 – 21 Club Championship – recommend that club the move to Nov in the future.

July tournament is a 24 hr event. Lines in at 2pm. Courtesy weigh-in at Cypress Gardens at 7pm Saturday evening. Sunday weigh-in at 2pm at Cypress. You can weigh in 5 at each weigh-in, but only your best 5 will count for total weight. A dead fish that is weighed in will be part of your total weight. Any public water accessible by all members with a boat ramp are eligible to fish. Any questions contact Elvis.

The August tournament has been moved from the 13th to the 27th. The reason is we have a mandatory State mtg on the 13th to be eligible to fish the 6 man event. Motion by Jim G / Ron Brown and approved 12- 0.

Jerseys – Elvis has $800 in sponsorships. Proofs are in design and will be sent to each member for final approval. Only Active and in good standing members will have their jerseys paid for using sponsorship money.

Club Championship – discussion to cap at top 10 members vice 50% of club membership. Discussion to have top 8 in points, Big fish of the year and Heavy stringer of the year as qualifiers. A member must be in good standing to qualify.

Raffle ticket discussion – money would be used to pay for lodging for 6 man team. Currently have sponsors of Palmetto $200 or Daiwa rod / reel combo, Phantom $150. Sell max of 250 tickets at $10 each ($2500) 1st place – $1000 to Phantom, 2nd place – BPS gift card $400, 3rd place – Palmetto $200 or rod/reel combo. Should net approx. $1200. Approved for Elvis to get the tickets printed and for the club membership to sell.

2022 6 Man notes – lowest winning team weight in recent memory

New website / Facebook starting Jan 1 – scbassnation.com. Will be able to register and pay for tournament trail online. Eventually dues will also be able to be paid online. Still discussion of a credit card fee and what it will be.

Financial report is available for review.

Team trail begins 2nd year. For every 25 teams we get 1 team into the National Championship. Had 86 teams last year, so 3 teams going to Championship.

Volunteer help needed for B.A.S.S. events on Murray and Santee. Camera boats, ect Contact Chris Jones for more info.

All Bylaw changes present were approved unanimously.

Any proposed changed to Bylaws need to be presented at Aug mtg in writing.

The rulers for measuring fish at State tournaments are machined and non-bendable. Had several short fish at 6 man and seemed to effect rulers on Phoenix and Rangers. Feel free to check your ruler against State ruler before tournament.

Changes coming to B.A.S.S. – going from 5 to 4 regions. Expect more details in the next couple of weeks.

Officers elections

Chris Jones re-elected President.

Ed Owens stepping down as Secretary – replacement will be Kipton Burba will take over.

Jason Holland (been rep for 14 yrs) stepping down as District 1 rep. No replacement named.

Need new rep for District 4 to replace Kipton.

Discussion on Paper clubs / stacked teams and how to curb. Possibly moving up date that members have to be on a club roster. Currently Aug 15.

National and State dues need to be paid by the beginning of the new year.
